You must do this with beautiful rooms.  Deconstruct them for your uses.

Your point about "not enough lamps" is duly noted. This reader always notices the lack of lighting/lamps in pictures I see of beautifully decorated rooms. And for the picture you posted, there is plenty of outdoor light coming in, but how does one read in one of those comfy chairs after dark? Wouldn't do for my home.

There are hardly enough lamps to walk through that room after dark! It's a beautiful room and I'm a Baldwin fan but that blue is simply too light for my taste. I think it's have more *punch* if the blue were darker.

Hi Tara, Your words have sunk in...slowly but surely. Yesterday our garden club had a tour of the home & office of Craig Bermann Landscape Design in Lake Forest Il. This had been a dilapidated leftover estate of the Armour (beef) family. As we wandered the gardens I kept looking at the axis views and our guide pointed out the views they wanted from the inside of the house. Your words were ringing in my head at every corner.

This is my favorite room ever published! Ever!!

To me, it is complete perfection!

I think I have seen other pictures of it with lamps. Perhaps it was just for this picture???
I'll investigate!!

Also; about the comment on the color; From this vantage you cannot see the "sea"!

That room has the most spectacular view of the sea; and it is the exact color of that blue linen! Exact!!

Magnificent!!
