Vanishing Threshold, below. And an enfilade, a common choice for book covers.I was in my early 20's when I first noticed, in House & Garden magazine, a front door Vanishing Threshold.
Oh Tara I LOVE this picture. Looking at what's out that door is just as interesting as looking at what's inside. What a wonderful entry too...love those built in benches and the panelling on the back of them. I'm afraid our front door is not in use at the moment...not until we get the picket fence finished and then the steps and sidewalk down. Dont' know why we're going to so much trouble to get to the front door though as everyone in the country goes to the back door! At least it will make ME happy ;) Hopefully I'll end up with a 'vanishing threshold' when I'm done. Enjoy your day! Maura :)
At my front door is a vintage plant stand holding greenery on high. A metal sign asking God to Bless welcomes visitors- as well as a lovely throw rug which coordinates the outside with inside spaces.
We have a Dutch door...so the top is open often (in California) and I like to view the neighbors landscape. Mary Ann PS. I am excited about the new kumquat trees we put in large cement urns on the front stoop. Will have to post about them.

I'm taking a pic through my front door right after I post this...brilliant, Puppet Barbuda / Tara D.
Today's low was a historic -11F, but *not* stopping me from documenting design!
