Visual Real Estate

Do you give away bits of your landscape? You bought it, you perform (or pay someone to perform) the upkeep, you pay the taxes & you have freedom to create YOUR aesthetic.Which house owns this fence?
Really?
.
Sure?

Garden & Be Well, XO Tara

Pics taken at a client's last month. She's already told her painter what color to paint the fence. He said he just painted it. She said, "Tara is upset and it has to be painted this ______ color."

I'd like to see that fence in a darker, more muted color. Then, I'd like to see some plants in front of it.

I painted our fence this fence the same color I painted our house doors, three of them, four counting the inside garage door; well, it is not our fence-it is our neighbor's fence, and I painted the side which faces out into our small but charming yard near my vegetable and flower garden Benjamin Moore Victorian Purple. It is quite beautiful!

Where is the gray house with the wall? I want it.

Hmm...looking at the blinds in the brick house I'd say the fence belongs to the gray house?

You are my Georgia compadre!

Great thoughts in so few words about the interrelation of properties, borrowed views, and THINKING before doing.

But some non-designers call their ineptness in design and ego "necessary field changes", instead of consulting a designer. We all have a role to play, so play it well.

Oh jeez Louise, after my neighbor took down a jointly owned fence (without talking to me first) so she could incorporate my stone wall into her landscape, comments like "it is not our fence-it is our neighbor's fence, and I painted the side which faces out into our small" makes me break out in an Old Testament jumble of plague, pestilence and emotions. Property rights is not an artistic call.

That white fence is more noticeable than the house! Unless the resident is the prez of a fence company, I don't see the reason a fence should hog all the attention. My eye doesn't even notice the plants in this case. You are going to share the new paint job with us, right?

Christine in Alaska, no fence at all (sob)

I have missed so much, the conservatory is fab! You have done well. I like a reuse room.Like the steps torn out and redone. Mine need a simplier solution as well.....
Good to catch up, thanks for commenting always a pleasure to read your reply's.

I hope to God that the brick house with the air conditioner on display owns that fence. The person in the gray house is your client. Tell the rest!!

I'm on the edge of my seat!!
