VANISHING THRESHOLD: KITCHEN & GARDEN

SHIPMEN designed & contracted their own kitchen. Glass walls and ceiling, conservatory style, the garden arises just above your hips. You feel more like you are in the garden than the kitchen. Below, picture taken from inside.
Baubles from across the globe, below, constantly telling new stories of SHIPMEN; their life & work.

SHIPMEN had hired a 'known' architect but his work was paltry. Taking a loss on that little expedition they confidently created a vanishing threshold of kitchen & garden.

Tara,

What a gorgeous view and kitchen. I already love to cook so I can't imagine what it must be like to cook in there. Heaven.

Yes, SHIPMEN cook. I've had their cooking, and catered from the kitchen. OMG!!!

Their companionship, view, kitchen are a trinity hard to resist.

I'd love to have a house sinking in the garden. Do you think its possible in the house where ground level is 150 cm above ground?

Ewa, yes. SHIPMEN's kitchen was enlarged by digging into their backyard. Earth is about 3'high along kitchen wall.

Wish I could stand in their kitchen with you, it's magic.

Breathtakingly beautiful & quite enviable! My new kitchen is tiny - - - but I see hope! If nothing else - - - some marvelous windows looking out into the woods.
