Nantucket is gorgeous Tara! I've been lucky enough to have done photo shoots there 3 times. The houses we shot were amazing. One had a 'dog room' as big as a ballroom, just for the dog! (Including dog shower, dog baths, play area, etc.) Hollywood family. Old money.
These houses are prettier. That pink door is beautiful. It's the perfect shell pink.
You should go. It's glorious in June when the hydrangeas are out. Stay at the Veranda Hotel. Rooms are reasonably priced and decor is gorgeous. You can rent a bike near the wharf ($20 for a day) and toodle right around the town and island. Glorious!

You must go. It has been awhile since I have been. That first image epitomizes Nantucket to me...shingles...arbors with roses growing over the roofs...you would adore it
I remember similar scenes in Newport 8 years ago, and it was fall. What's cool is living in a place like that, of a similar garden size or scale, where others take vacations. To me, a small lot, a tough garden, and endless near-wilderness 100 feet away will be missed when I move.
Your frequent notations of the conversations you would have in such a space, as with your cousin in Mass., may be the highlight, though.
