Bedroom Changes

My bedroom is in the hunting/gathering stage.  26 year old carpet was removed & heart of pine flooring now matches the rest of the house.  Researched headboards on Velvet & Linen, and, Things That Inspire.  This headboard, below, is what I ordered.

A couch & ottoman will be ordered for the foot of the bed.  Need a couch in the music room too.
Debating if the 2 new couches should 'match' in case they end up together in a new space.
.
Need the lampshades, above, too.
.
The bed was moved and I'm loving new views into the garden.  Can't wait for the couch, it's views are thru a different window.
.
Decades planning/planting in the garden it seems strange to be fixating on the interior.  After a quarter century has passed, it's time.

Of course it's the garden first. That takes years to mature.... decorating indoors takes much less time as long as the $$$$ are there.

Love that you have exposed the heart pine floors.

It's an ever evolving process of rejunvenation when we own a home. It sounds like you have a handle on what you want. Great inspiration photos - I love those blogs too.

I hear you Tara, all my efforts most of my life have been tending the garden.....now about the same years have gone by as you...we have begun a major renovation inside. Daunting and exciting at the same time....enjoy your blog very much. Great choices you have made! N.

Oh I love the things you are doing!

Did we know you were staying in the same house and garden? Did I think you were moving? I love the fact you are staying and having views of the garden you have created!

Note the sofa at the end of the bed does not have those big fat arms and big fat backs that most sofas have today! You can probably find one in the places you search; with the right profile! (These sofas with fat arms and backs look like they were filled with a bicycle pump! Brooke's are always such good proportions....Hard to find and worth the search!

Excellent idea to have them match if you want to use them together later......or not exactly match but same scale!
Love the headboard!
Love it all!

Life is good when you can lie in bed and enjoy the view of the garden.

All sounds good. Agree with PB's comments about size/scale of sofas. Wished we had heart pine under our carpet! Not!!!! It's terrible thing to get to putting down hard wood floors while still living in the same house. Doing that right now. The redemption: the views framed with the new larger windows shows my 24 year old trees and says every day it was worth growing the garden first.
