Keep It Simple Sweetie

Simplicity, repetition, color, scale, quality, comfort, timeless, flow, destination, garden room, contrast of shapes-materials-foliage, & more.
Posted on La Maison Fou several days ago, this garden room is proof;
.
A lot goes into simplicity.
.
Choosing to say "No" to things, isn't easy. What you keep out is as important as what you put in.

Too true. I put a plant list together for a new area of the garden and decided that it would look less of a 'mish mash' and more of a plan once I halved the variety of plants

I love this- and your words, what you keep out is as important....so true in ALL areas of art!
BTW, I think I could live in that room.....

Thanks for the example from the Sooner State - simplicity, so true...take time to reduce! I am imagining more collaboration between interior and landscape design professionals, too.

A lot of effort here certainly goes into simplicity. I have to ignore those whims and little garden voices that say I just need one more pot, chair, plant, whatever. Enough already. Plus, it's easier to clean, right?

What a rule for life - keep it simple and how hard it is!
