WINDOW SCREENS ARE UGLY

As landscape backdrop your house has zero small details. Studying historic landscapes abroad I realized window screens have no presence. Off they went. Once done I realized it was a, "Let Your House (Life) Out Of Jail" card. Why? LIGHT !!
I removed window screens for the aesthetics of my landscape. Instead, removing window screens increased my quality of life.

House, garden & lifestyle are combined. Who knew?
.
Insects? I place screen inserts into windows when the weather is fine & leave the windows open. No bugs & cats can't go out. No alarm, cats are never unattended.

I hear ya...although your kitty had me scared!

We pulled a big 2000 sf screen off of our pool area this past summer! Best thig we have ever done...feels like a whole new area!

I take my in and out. I want the windows opened in the spring and fall, so they stay. When it is too cold or hot they go...my husband thinks it is so crazy. But that is just a great time to wash the windows and I don't mind.

We took most of our screens down. There are still a few up for our rare airing-outs. Good riddance.

I so agree. I had portable screens made for my bedroom and office. Now when I want to, I can open the windows, place the screen in place, and enjoy the breezes without the mosquitos. Then take them in and have clear views through the glass.

you're so right. how did this trend of leaving them in start? I'll be planning the removal of mine for this month...thanks for your blog, I am getting so much inspiration from you and your posts. I've mentioned you on my newly launched blog twice in the last week alone!
