Leggy Hags! And this latest pruning is wrong too. Want lush foliage top to bottom? Prune the top of your bushes slightly narrower than the bottom. It's that easy.
This gate is perfection.

Thank you Cousin Cathy for sending your vacation pics from Nantucket...
Gate, yes - - - "shearing" that way, no! Recently had a client do it right on their 5+ year old Photinia hedges. And just when it was OK, an employee of the same person who I helped do it right, screwed it right back up the way the owner already had when I first met them...leggy hags are back.
So tired of this incompetency, and the clients who do not PAY and involve me appropriately to prevent it.

Solid advice.
Never hear them called HAGS!
Such a cool gate!
"leggy hags" is what we are avoiding on every front
Bravo!
XXOO
Only Tara would call them "hags"!
and it is the perfect word....and one for the "ages"!
And what is your other word for foundation plantings/
It is even worse! Just do gravel up to the house!
Way chic! DEALING WITH OUR FRON!
thanks!
