Double wheeled demand less physically + don't compact the soil as much.

This girl has been ridden ROUGH. She's not old but already retired. Found at a jobsite I was working on in Charleston, SC last week. Adore the lines of a good wheelbarrow. Evocative.

Yes. I have a single wheeled wheelbarrow. Our 1/4 acre sits on a hill. Every time I fill that baby and attempt to turn it spills out! No control. None.
This is on my list for this spring. Putting in our pool and EVERYTHING is torn up. That's okay, giving me a fresh space to start over!
We are warming up here quickly. So thankful!!
"...so much depends upon a wheelbarrow..."
I have a yellow dumping wagon. A single wheeler is just the thing sometimes though.
I never thought about a single wheel compacting the soil, good to know!
A whole week in the 70's, much gardening here!
Hope you're getting some of this enjoyable weather!

Good advice about the soil compaction. I have to stick to my one wheeler because I had to make a narrow turn between the huge oak and the fence. Good for me my paths are all gravel. I think my wheelbarrow always looks better when my husband is behind it!
My single wheeler was inherited and so rusty one could barely make out the thing had been dark green. It has served me well and moved tons of gravel, earth, and plants. It is a bit of a tempermental beastie though. Many, many spilled loads and a few flat tires. I'm about ready to upgrade to a more stable option.
However, what's the rush...everything is still under snow and it's ten degrees.
