Serious about low maintenance landscaping? Soil & flowers require watering. I adore Susanne Hudson's visual pun, below.
My birdhouse, below, went up when I tired of watering the wall planter. One year of the wall planter darlings. More than 10 years of the birdhouse. Lots of chirping & many fledglings later it still makes me happy.
My covered container, below, connects me to centuries of gardeners tired of planting.
A category I own, The Queen's Pot, below. Discovered at Glamis Castle.

I don't have any containers that don't have plants in them...they are all pretty fabulous to me. As fab as they are, I think they are better adorned with plantings!
I never mind watering! The heavy can is good for keeping my triceps toned!!! :)
Hi Tara
You're spot on!
Don't skimp on the pots. Next year, once the stockmarket has finished eating my bank account and the pound strengthens, I intend to go hunting for containers.
cheers
Tara, Tara, Tara!
You are always forcing me to think outside the box! Thank you for that.
Ivy Lane, The woman with watering can arms, I read in the NYTimes years ago about, Cocktail Arms. I know your arms are as beautiful as your pots!
Will post about my planted pots at some point.
Rob, OurFrenchGarden, pots are hard to find in my area. However, we do have, www.4SeasonsPottery.com. Of course you're right good pots are not cheap.
But they are cheap over time if not planted.

does everyone know about Aw pottery - somewhere out near peachtree/dekalb airport - i've known for a year and have yet to visit - hate to just look-- no funds for fancy pots the thumb
Aw Pottery is in Atlanta & other states. Never been but several clients/friends have. Pots are beautiful & the prices good.
Thanks for bringing them up Scott.
