HEDGE ENTRY + ENFILADE

How's this, below, for a holly hedge? (Note, proper pruning, top slightly narrower than bottom.)Mystery, backdrop, entry, evergreen, drought tolerant, bug proof. Hitching posts are all antique. Now you see, below, what the hedge is embracing. Does it matter, anymore, the parking court is a mere 4' from the pool decking?
A fabulous ENFILADE, above.

Leading to another ENFILADE, above.

  1. Lovely garden shots! I especially love the enfilade shots, although I've never thought of an enfilade for the outdoors.

  2. Absolutely unreal Tara. The ideas that stem from these photos are quite inspiring.

By the by, loving the posts of your own house and ideas. I quite frankly NEVER would have thought to look at some of your suggested stores for garden material.

And I must say, your clients, family and friends are always serving you the best-sounding food and drinks. I only wish my profession did the same. :)

  3. It's beautiful. I had to look up enfilade. I like the sound of that word. I can't wait to see more.

  5. Oh how fabulous. the shape of the hedge almost makes me want to keep mine at its current taller height (almost). LOVE the purple coneflowers and other cottage-y flowers with the birdhouse.

Had to look up enfilade too.

  6. Tara, I love that you have shared this Douglasville garden, it has been a pleasure for me to have been designing it for the past 11 years. Thank you also for your notes about 'proper pruning', a very important enhancement to any design. www.kmagardens.com
