Concrete blocks/gravel for parking, below.
Cubed stone/gravel, below, for roads.
And, below,
they look great together.
.
Did you notice something FABULOUS? Each is water permeable.
.
Nice to pull onto these surfaces & hear their bit of crunch and feel their texture under your tires.

Tara ... I am loving me some black star gravel lately! I need black star gravel. In the middle of renovating my backyard. I am going to implement a lot of your design but did not have the energy to do it all myself! I know, I know, you are disappointed. :) Getting the hardscape done first and then on to my garden! Black star gravel is already in the plan.

ReplyDeleteThey are lucky to have you!
T...and I thought that I was the only one that heard "the crunch" and loved it......k
ReplyDeleteGreat points on using hardscape well...permeability is so important, from arid climes to wet climes.

Thanks for showing different types of permeable paving. I hope people will start to realize how beneficial this is for reducing run-off. Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteWould do this on my drive in a heartbeat. Unfortunately it's steep enough to sled down. Years ago a scientist at our state's geological survey wrote a poem "gravel is our friend." Damned straight!
