WHICH DIRECTION?

This crabapple, below, doesn't have a bad direction. Here, above/below, in Susanne Hudson's backyard.
Looking thru the gate, below, is a view from the frontyard.

Blossoms, below, each had honeybees. Wish you could hear this tree.

Classic Design Recipe, below. Path, gate, arbor, light, picket fence, color theme, bench, potted boxwood, leaf litter mulch, Tara Turf, focal point on axis. (Note: treat this as any good recipe. It works everytime & is unique everytime.)

Crabapple viewed, below, from the front porch. She fills the horizon.

Notice winter's bare branches? I adore the frisson.

Pics taken last Friday. My favorite direction is from the library, early morning. Alas, we were hard at work on our book project.

  1. Hi Tara,

What a beautiful tree and fence. I also love your rusty tub. I agree, don't paint it! Also the last post on fencing. I will be putting up a fence to block the view of my neighbors trash, I mean side-yard and am so scared it will ruin the look of my cottage!

  3. "Wish you could hear this tree." Just the way to experience a garden -- the views, the sights, the sounds, the smells, the feel of leaves & flowers & ground beneath your feet -- simply all of it. You do it so well.

  4. Fine,fine Tree.

I've just enlarged all the pics.

Bet it's so alive, I can practically hear the bees buzzing even here in SW France.

I planted a Malus 'Evereste' last Autumn, it's covered in buds at the moment ready to BURST!

  5. Gorgeous apple tree!!

I've always wanted to put a small table under my apple tree, but it's not very private ~ houses nearby. So I haven't done it because I don't know if I'd sit there. But this looks so inviting!
